Kyle Hommes

Kyle Hommes: LPC

Kyle Hommes is a contracted therapist who began his therapy career working with at-risk youth and is very comfortable dealing with childhood trauma and corresponding behavioral issues using individual, family, and group interventions. Since then, he has expanded his counseling interests to adults, families, and couples, but still very much enjoys working with youth. His therapeutic strength lies in his ability to help his clients understand the roots of emotional and behavioral issues and move past them by building self-knowledge and self-compassion. This process often involves discovering coping strategies that can help clients deal with difficult thoughts and feelings without becoming overwhelmed. And once coping skills are in place, it is possible to learn the lesson from our past experience the lessons that we need to move forward.
Kyle completed his Masters of Arts in Community Counseling at Denver Seminary and is now a Licensed Professional Counselor. He has worked for several agencies throughout the Denver Metro area including Shiloh Home, Aurora Mental Health Center, and Tennyson Center for Children. In addition to his counseling experience, Kyle has received post-graduate training in the areas of trauma-informed care, attachment, the Enneagram, and EMDR.

Outside of his role as a therapist, Kyle and his wife Anna (who also works at Insight Counseling Center) have three children that keep them busy. He enjoys camping, biking, skiing, snow shoeing, and hiking.
