Erica Kennedy

Erica Kennedy, LCSW (she/her)

Erica's 15 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the healthcare system has shaped her practice and approach to therapy. She has a diverse background in working with a variety of clients, including individuals facing and adjusting to serious illness, end of life issues, caregiver stress, and grief and bereavement. Her hope to create a collaborative healing space through a client-centered, strengths-based approach.

Having an empathetic and compassionate nature allows Erica to develop strong therapeutic relationships to walk alongside you on your path to healing. She approaches her work with curiosity, warmth, and encouragement to provide you with a safe space to build insight, find solutions, and heal during all seasons of life.

Erica draws from various models of therapy including acceptance commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. She uses motivational interviewing, reflection, and a person-centered approach to guide clients in recognizing their strengths and abilities.

Erica is trained in
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In addition, she is open to using walking therapy and incorporating yoga/movement into the therapeutic space.

Erica is an Advanced Clinician and a part of the Clinical Lead team at Insight which means she provides supervision and clinical training to new therapists in our training and development program.

When she is out of the office, you’ll find Erica spending quality time with her partner, their sweet dog, and enjoying the Colorado outdoors. Favorite activities include camping, hiking, gardening, and being in the lovely Denver area parks.

She also enjoys reading, relaxing in the hammock, and making a variety of goodies from her collection of cookbooks.
