Kennan Moore, LCSW

I believe that we humans can learn more about ourselves and experience healing, growth and change, no matter our age or circumstances.  This belief has been foundational to my own life and my work as a medical social worker and therapist for almost twenty years.  Life can present us with many challenges and curve balls—trauma, grief and loss, burnout, living with chronic pain and/or illness, being a caregiver, surviving serious illness.  Sometimes the process of coping and adjusting to these things can be painful and distressing for our minds, spirits and our bodies.  I see my role as offering you a compassionate and non-judgmental space to explore avenues for healing, finding meaning and hope, a renewed sense of self and quality of life.

We are all unique in how we live, what we value, how we cope and function in times of trauma, distress and pain, what we hope for and how we heal.   With this in mind, our time together will include developing a plan that works specifically for you and may include integrating various therapeutic models such as mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Denver.  When I’m not working, I’m usually reading, going out with friends, enjoying a play or live music, or going to the movies (the funnier the better). I’m also an amateur baker after discovering the therapeutic benefits of creating things that can nourish and bring joy to others.
